Interview with Falcieri Designs

Claudia from Falcieri Designs who recently assisted as a styIist on the group shoot in Nottingham, began making costume when I was at school, mostly self taught. I did costume for some years working as a freelancer for theatre and re-enactment whilst I worked full time in London. In 2008 I came to Lincoln applied to the University here to study a BA Hons in Fashion Design to refine my skills and move into fashion design.
I still do vintage clothing and hire historical pieces I still have in my collection but really my work is now in fashion, concept and statement wear but they often have a historical bent on them.
My main interests are tailoring, corsetry and creative pattern cutting and design. I also carry out a lot of photoshoot styling across most genres which is something I really enjoy doing. I started doing shoots in May 2010 and I’ve now completed about 74 shoots. I enjoy working with up and coming models and photographers as well as professional people and showcasing new designers.
I also specialise in millinery using birds wings which is a really interesting addition to my work.
I am producing an 11 piece collection for 2012 for the launch of my business ‘Falcieri Designs’ which combines the two capsule collections from final year degree collection and the collection previewed at the ‘Alter Me Up’ runway show in Birmingham on 30th March.
Once I graduate in May this year, I will be running my business full time as a designer and photoshoot stylist based in Lincoln. Hopefully this will be the start of something big. I’ve always wanted to run my own business so this is a dream that is finally coming true.
